Embracing The Fall Foliage

Those beautiful vibrant autumn leaves are overpowering as you drive down any road here in Michigan right now. I’ve caught myself going the long way home, taking detours and driving down the dirt roads to enjoy the beauty that is in front of us. Let’s check out a few places to catch this beauty before its gone!

The Tunnel Of Trees Michigan

If you live in Michigan you have undoubtedly heard of The Tunnel Of Trees. It is located in Northern Lower Michigan on M-119 that stretches from Cross Village to Harbor Springs. You’ll be surrounded by a mixture of hardwoods and evergreens through a 20 mile stretch. This road is narrow so keep that in mind if you choose to go on a busy weekend. I’ve added a link below for the route from Harbor Springs to Cross Village.

The Tunnel Of Trees can also be viewed in all seasons. While the autumn foliage may seem superior it really has beauty all year around!

Other Michigan Places

Let’s be honest, there are a TON of places you can check out! Over the summer I went to visit the Keweenaw. Houghton, Michigan is, just wow. The climbs throughout that city has some incredible views, so I can only imagine how spectacular they would be with the colors! I’ve added a link below to other great places to check out all over the state!

Backyard Autumn Foliage

More than likely you have your very own tunnel of trees even if its a shorter length nearby. My favorite places to seek them out are looking at maps that lead to dirt roads or older developed areas. Those have the more mature trees and I’m pretty sure they purposely planted some of the most beautiful maples right along the roadways. I’ll find myself turning off of the main road, slowing down, and seeking out the hidden tunnel of trees near me! I’ll make a note as to where and then I’ll purposely return to ride my bike or take a hike along there so I can slow it down even more and enjoy it!

Where do you go to search for your most favorite autumn colors? Is it on top of a high hill overlooking a valley or lake? Or maybe its on the low land back roads. Wherever it may be, I bet it is breathtaking! We would love for you to share if you don’t mind letting us in on your favorite spot! And while you are at it let us in on your favorite bakery because a good muffin and coffee goes well with a hike!

Welcome Adventurers!

I had a good friend ask why I chose Adventurer for the name. To be honest I was first thinking explorer, but really Adventurer describes me so much better. And…
